Dubbed Playin’ Possum: The Final No-Show, the Jones tribute concert lasted four hours and welcomed more than 100 artists to to perform 48 Jones hits.
“I hopped out of the car and went over there and knocked on her windshield and she freaked out,” Keifer recalled.
“We had a lot of people praying for me. A lot of fans and family. That’s the only thing I can attribute it to because he was like, ‘That’s not going down. That’s not going away.’ And it went away,” Keifer said.
More than 20,000 fans attended the first-ever Faster Horses Festival in Michigan, which also featured Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, Jerrod Niemann, Thompson Square, and Kix Brooks.
Now, though, due to a what Keifer calls “a very serious vocal condition,” the Thompsons are taking a short break. Shows through at least June 2 have been cancelled.
