The status of Wu-Tang Clan’s A Better Tomorrow may be in limbo, but the group’s other 2014 release, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, appears to be right on track, with a preview clip released today.
In the continuing saga of RZA vs. Raekwon, the former has given the latter an ultimatum: get on board with Wu-Tang Clan’s new album, or said album is not coming out.
“I’m gonna clear one thing up. In the newest article in Rolling Stone Raekwon says that I’m a boldface liar, which I’m far from,” RZA asserts. “I don’t need to lie. I’m a grown man. I’ve got children. I only have one rule in my house, ‘Don’t lie to me.'”
“I feel sad for his family first and foremost; I know he has children,” RZA said.
You might not want to enter the fury of the Wu fans.
The rapper pulls no punches when it comes to the current state of the Wu-Tang, but he says it’s all because he’s looking out for the group’s fans as well as its legacy.

“The main theme is music being accepted and respected as art and being treated as such. If something is rare, it’s rare. You cannot get another.”
Scarcity caused species to die out and economic systems to crumble. And, according to an interview with RZA, now the Wu hope it will cause the music industry to self-destruct so that art can be reborn.
Everything is not right with the Wu.
