Hitting stories Tuesday, Rewind is the ninth studio album from Rascal Flatts. “I feel like we’re going in the right direction,” Joe Don Rooney told Radio.com.
Country trio performed “Rewind” at the ceremony, and things seemed fishy from the start.
Recently previewing a handful of new songs from their upcoming album, ‘Rewind,’ the guys in the band took some time to talk to Radio.com about their collective love of sports, particularly football.
“Payback” is a tongue-in-cheek track which highlights the band’s fun side as a girl tries to make her boyfriend jealous. “It’s a fun little revenge tune that’s awesome and I think the girls are going to love that one,” Jay DeMarcus said.
“‘Memphis’ we’re over the moon about,” Jay DeMarcus said. “[It’s] by the same guy who wrote “[Bless the] Broken Road,” Marcus Hummon. It’s a big over-the-top ballad.”
The film “Heaven Is for Real” is based on the best-selling book of the same, which left at least one Flatts bandmember bawling “like a baby.”
“I was the first one to hear it in a song pitch meeting in Nashville,” Jay DeMarcus told Radio.com. “When I heard it, it just jumped out of the speakers. The chorus was so catchy and hooky.”
The members of country trio Rascal Flatts have a busy year ahead, including a North American concert trek they announced today and have dubbed the Rewind Tour.
