Brett Eldredge is a man of his word. When “Beat of the Music” was rising on the country charts he made a bet with his team that if the song went to No. 1 he’d go swimming with sharks. And that’s exactly what he did.
“I started playing ‘Mean To Me’ out at shows and girls just go crazy for it. I literally had somebody get engaged at one of my shows to that song,” he said of his new single, “Mean To Me.” “I hope I can sing that one for a long, long time.”
“I want my heart to be pounding and feeling like I’m about to be a snack but not really be one. And then I’m going to get out and have a few drinks afterwards because I might be a little scared. “
He won’t have sharks in the cage, he clarified, but they’ll likely be swimming around him.
The theme of this year’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum benefit is Songtellers (A LARGE Intimate Evening), and participants include Urban, Vince Gill, Reba, Kacey Musgraves, Brantley Gilbert and Ronnie Milsap. See the full list of performers.

Headlined by Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban, the two-day event takes place in Las Vegas the weekend of the 49th ACM Awards.
