Charles Harvey Ferrelle III has filed charges against Currington claiming that the singer has ridiculed him on his website following their altercation last year.
“We’re going to head on out to an arena tour with a guy named Brett Eldredge and Chase Rice,” Currington said. “Brett, what a great singer-songwriter. I hear they get a little crazy too. Three crazies in the room, one night. Should be a lot of fun.”
“It wouldn’t be songs that I would want to be on country radio. If you heard them you’d be like, ‘Oh never country radio. It would never fit.’ It’s way out, over here.”
Currington will face five years of probation, pay a $1,000 fine, promise no contact with the parties involved in the incident, and attend anger management classes.
“When we’d see a girl and be too shy to say something, we would go, ‘Hey girl’, and it always brought a smile and started a conversation.”
Country singer Billy Currington will plead not guilty today (August 14) on charges of making terroristic threats and elder abuse.
“Mr. Currington turned himself in to the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department at 3:25pm on 4/25 where he was booked on the charges,” Daniel Baxter, Public Information Officer at the Office of the District Attorney, told Radio.com.
The country singer is wanted by a Savannah, Georgia, grand jury after “making terroristic threats and abuse of an elder person.”
