Donald Trump is hoping the Beach Boys will be pickin’ up good vibrations at his inauguration, as the band is reportedly considering an offer to play the event. However, they have not decided whether or not they will accept the invitation.
“The Beach Boys have been asked to perform as part of the inauguration festivities,” the band said in a statement to Billboard. “But no decision has been made at this point as to how or whether they will participate. We will let you know as soon as a decision is final.”
The group performed at presidential inauguration events for Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton. In addition, Beach Boys performed at a $100-per-ticket fundraiser for Reagan during the 1984 Republican Convention, The New York Times reports.
So far, The Rockettes, The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and America’s Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho have been confirmed to play at Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2017.
