Michael ‘Fitz’ Fitzpatrick, the front man of Fitz and the Tantrums, knows about disconnecting from the chaos of life. The father of one spends much of his time recording, performing at venues all over the world and promoting his music.
“In this day and age, it’s more important than ever to try and find those moments to disconnect,” says Fitzpatrick. “My thing is, to whenever I can, put the phone down, turn off the devices. I just like to find a quiet space and calm myself and tune the world out for a second. Maybe even sometimes do a small moment of meditation and use that energy as a place to find that center. ”
“I think one of the amazing things about this destination is that it’s somewhere you can get to easily, and yet you feel like you’ve entered a completely different world,” he says. “Greater Palm Springs is the place that you go to disconnect and reconnect with yourself. You feel like you’ve entered a completely different world. It’s a place where you can come and unwind from the business of the world.”
“I think every person needs that for their mental well-being on a frequent basis. That’s really where I find all my energy now to go forward every day at work.”
