Taylor Swift may love her #Squad and promote friendship at nearly every turn, but she draws lines when it comes to people who have allegedly crossed her. In an excerpt from his new book Superficial, Andy Cohen shared how Swift snubbed Perry at the 2016 Met Gala.
He crossed paths with Swift at the bar while she was looking for a good place to watch Lady Gaga’s performance. “Why I felt I needed to get involved I will never know (maybe I was auditioning for her squad?) but I innocently said exactly the wrong thing to her, which was, ‘Your friend Katy is sitting in the corner and there’s plenty of room around her,'” he wrote. Swift’s response? “Katy who?” (via ET).
Cohen, who apparently couldn’t pull his foot out of his mouth, kept going. “I said, ‘Perry,’ at which point she clearly let me know that she’s the exact opposite of her friend.” When Cohen tried to make fun of his goof, Swift told him not to mention it on his show Watch What Happens Live. “She didn’t threaten me about putting it in my book, so here we are,” Cohen added.
But if it seems like Perry is just sitting back and taking anything Swift throws her way, think again. She attended Kanye West’s concert and Snapchatted herself making faces when a certain someone (cough cough Swift) was mentioned in his single “Famous.”
