John Legend, like Alicia Keys in her new music video “Blended Love,” wants to combat the dark times people are facing with a message of love.
Legend released his new music video for “Love Me Now” today (November 11th). Shot in various locations associated with pressing issues, such as Domiz Refugee Camp in Northern Iraq, Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, the video underscores the importance of loving everyone to the fullest no matter what.
Besides showing different couples, Legend, his wife Chrissy Teigen and their infant daughter appear in the video, cozying up to one another and laughing.
Director Nabil Elderkin said about the video’s message, “This video shows how love can be shared in some of the most difficult situations on earth in which the human spirit and connection with each other prevails. From one of the longest standing refugee camps in northern Iraq just 45 miles outside of Mosul, to Standing Rock Reservation where they are fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline that threatens their sacred lands and all of our water, it is a glimpse into these couples’ lives and the lives of those in their communities.”
