You’ve probably encountered YG’s “FDT (F— Donald Trump)” over the last day since the businessman’s election to the presidency. Though it was released this spring, YG’s message has become more potent now that the United States has a forthcoming Trump administration on its hands. While in Melbourne, Australia, Schoolboy Q lifted the song to perform in protest of the election result.
“If y’all don’t f—ing know, Donald Trump is now the punk-ass President,” he told the crowd. “I don’t believe your vote count anymore. I don’t believe that. I don’t believe that. Each state, everywhere I go, I don’t know one person that said they were voting for Trump — including all my white friends, including this white boy right here. He voted for Hillary Clinton, and she didn’t win. I don’t get it.”
From there, Schoolboy Q launched into the YG track, destined to become a protest anthem as demonstrations across the country rebuke Trump and his electoral victory.
