Azealia Banks has had a tumultuous year which included endorsing and un-endorsing Donald Trump, getting and losing a new record deal, brawling with Russell Crowe and losing her right to tweet, ever. As returns for a Trump win were counted, Banks used Facebook and Instagram to apologize, congratulate and express her enthusiasm for Trump’s successful White House run. She included hearty disdain for “corporate white feminists” and the “liberal media,” but said she feels vindicated. Here are some excerpts from her social media activity on election night.
“First off, I would like to apologize to Donald Trump for all the stupid jokes I made,” she wrote on Facebook. “(I was kidding). secondly, I would like to apologize for all the other times I was dumb enough to let the liberal media sway my opinion of you.”
“I’m f—ing proud as F— of you. One for being a Gemini, two for being from NYC, three for winning the presidency and four for beating the media. The last part is your biggest victory in my eyes and I must say that I am TRULY inspired by this and feel deep amounts of vindication.”
She went after Jay Z and Beyoncé:
“But I’m really laughing because jayz and Beyoncé really were up there shucking and bucking for Hillary and she STILL lost.”
Her sexist attack on Hillary Clinton:
“America deserves a WAAAAAAAY better first female president then trash a– Hilary. Now that the cow has lost for the SECOND time, let’s set her back out to pasture…”
