Green Day released the new music video for “Still Breathing” off their new album Revolution Radio today (Nov. 7). And even the song has an uplifting message, the visual largely conveys a despondent feel in both image and tone.
“Still Breathing” intercuts beautiful natural imagery, like sweeping forests and oceans, with four stories about people facing some kind of adversity. Two men, a woman and a young boy all separately stare down their problems over the course of the video, but each one is “still breathing” at the end. They’ve all found some kind of resolution, whether that’s just a sense of peace.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool all appear separately in the video, and they use their individual shots to dive deep into thought mode as well. They find one another at the end, though.
