"Remember and honor those who lost their lives," Sting wrote.

It’s been nearly one year since terrorists opened fire during an Eagles of Death Metal show on November 13th 2015 at the Bataclan in Paris, killing 89 and wounding many more. Now, the venue is set to reopen on November 12th with Sting headlining the bill.

The plans appear to be an amendment from what the Bataclan announced in April. At that time, the venue was going to reopen on November 16th with a Pete Doherty performance. He is still on the schedule, but the opening date has been moved up.

On his website, Sting wrote about the honor of being the first artist to take the stage after that terrifying night. He said he and the audience would have two things to reconcile. “First, to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the attack a year ago, and second, to celebrate the life and the music that this historic theater represents,” he wrote. “In doing so, we hope to respect the memory as well as the life-affirming spirit of those who fell. We shall not forget them.”

Tickets for the show go on sale Tuesday, November 8th at 10 a.m. CET. All proceeds will benefit two charitable organizations, Life for Paris and 13 Novembre : Fraternité Verité.
