Jay Z Shares Inspirational Voting Message

By Amanda Wicks

For those frustrated by either option in the 2016 presidential race, not voting seems to be the clear choice. But Jay Z has a powerful reminder for anyone who wants to sit on the sidelines come November 8th, and he shared it today on Twitter.

The rap mogul posted a powerful message by the Nobel Laureate writer Elie Wiesel. “We must take sides,” Wiesel stated. “Neutrality helps oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere.”

Jay Z’s tweet came as a means to thank those participating in the upcoming concert he’ll be holding in support of Hillary Clinton on Friday (Nov. 4). That event takes place in Cleveland, and is meant to encourage young black voters to throw their vote┬ábehind the former Secretary of State because Ohio will be a key state in the election. Jay Z previously stumped for Barack Obama in 2012.

So far, he has yet to announce who will be performing with him, though Clinton’s camp promised several special guests.┬áThose interested in securing tickets to the event can text “JAYZ” to 47246.
