A Tribe Called Quest’s New Album Features Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar, More

It’s been 18 years since A Tribe Called Quest released a new album, but with the loss of Phife Dawg earlier this year, the remaining members felt it was time to produce something new for fans.

Speaking with The New York Times in a new interview, Q-Tip detailed who would be appearing on their forthcoming album, We Got It From Here, Thank You For Your Service. The names include André 3000, Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, Elton John and Busta Rhymes. In April, comedian Chris Rock shared a photo hanging out with André, White and others. At the time, rumors circulated that they were all collaborating on André’s next album, but now it seems as though they were all hard at work with Tribe.

As for Phife, Q-Tip said he’ll appear on their new album. “I had no idea that his days was numbered,” Q-Tip said of Phife, before breaking down into sobs. “I just want to celebrate him, you know?”
