Originally released in 2006, Amy Winehouse’s sophomore studio album Back to Black is brimming with hits, including the title track and, of course, the iconic “Rehab.” And now fans can pick one of four tracks to show off their pipes.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its release, the Amy Winehouse Foundation is holding a contest to see who can create the best interpretation of “Back to Black,” “Rehab,” “Tears Dry on Their Own” or “Just Friends.” Four new lyric videos have been released today (Oct. 31), and a backing track for each one is available to download. Fans can record themselves singing along to the backing tracks and upload their videos for a chance to win an official studio session.
Winehouse’s original producers, Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, who are each patrons of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, will judge all entrants. The winner will have their performance recorded and filmed in a studio and then premiered on the official Island Records YouTube channel.
Both Island Records and Vevo are partnering with this contest, and all proceeds will benefit the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which aims to help youth dealing with issues like homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, mental health conditions and unemployment.
