Azealia Banks Says She’s Pressing Charges Against Russell Crowe

By Amanda Wicks

Azealia Banks shared that she would be pressing charges against Russell Crowe today (Oct. 21). Banks filed a battery report against the actor on Sunday (Oct. 16) after she claimed he choked her, spit on her and used racist language against her during a party he threw at a Beverly Hills hotel.

On Facebook yesterday (Oct. 20), Banks reiterated that she simply wanted to speak with Crowe face to face after the incident, but when he didn’t respond she had no choice but to move forward with criminal charges. She wrote, “regardless, you need to have the respect and decency to have someone properly escorted out. Grabbing them by the neck, calling them n—- and tossing them out is not the look. NOR Is spitting an acceptable form of self-defense. I will be moving forward with Pressing charges.” She posted again today that she would be pressing charges.

In another bizarre twist, Banks used the moment to post an apology for a long-standing (albeit largely one-sided) feud she’s had with Zayn. Earlier this year, she shared several incendiary messages directed at him on Twitter after she thought he had been tweeting about her. In her letter, she wrote, “There are no words that can fully express how sorry I am. Recent events have taught me the importance of taking accountability for ones actions. I want and need to say I am sorry, I was wrong.” She thanked him for remaining a gentleman even though she lost her cool.
