Country and pop get a sentimental mashup on Brett Eldredge’s new duet with Meghan Trainor. The two partnered to sing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” for Eldredge’s new holiday album Glow, and now fans can hear that track.
Eldredge has long been a fan of Frank Sinatra, and his version of Frank Loesser’s song has a touch of Ol’ Blues Eyes about it. Besides the 1950s big band sound that lends the song a classic feel, Eldredge’s vocals sound straight out of the male vocalist’s heyday. That makes sense considering he wanted to pay homage to some of his favorite crooners by making this album. “I recorded those classics in New York City and tried to give a tip of the hat to the ones that came before me — Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles — by adding that swing and that soul to the best of my ability,” he said in a press release.
Eldredge isn’t the first country musician to plan a holiday album this year. Kacey Musgraves will also be releasing A Very Kacey Christmas on November 18th.
Glow arrives on October 28th, but listeners can get a taste of what to expect by listening to Eldredge and Trainor sing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” below.
