Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, DJ Khaled Win BET Hip-Hop Awards

The Vice Presidential debate wasn’t the only programming captivating American television audiences last night (Oct. 4); The 2016 BET Hip-Hop Awards honored some of the brightest and most entertaining players in the game, including Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper and DJ Khaled.

Lamar was named Lyricist of the Year, Chance (who didn’t make it to the celebration) won Best New Hip-Hop Artist, DJ Khaled — the host of the event — took home Hustler of the Year and Fat Joe and Remy Ma won Track of the Year for “All The Way Up.” In addition, Lamar presented Snoop Dogg with the “I Am Hip-Hop Award.”

Highlights included a cypher by Lil Wayne and Kevin Hart and performances by Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, Young Thug, T.I., Isaiah Rashad, Lil Uzi Vert and 21 Savage.
