Stranger Things took Netflix audiences by surprise this summer with its astonishing performances, twisted plot and loving homages to classic ’80s sci-fi films. Its breakout stars Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp play three kids on a mission to solve a paranormal mystery and find their lost friend. The actors sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss one of the series’ most talked about features: its eerie, mood-setting theme music.
Together, the rascally outsiders of Hawkins, Indiana freestyled lyrics: “Will is gone. He’s dead. J.K.; he’s not. Barb is dead — ha!” suggested Matarazzo.
McLaughlin added, “It’s all about chocolate daddy.” Stranger things have happened.
