Bobby Shmurda was facing life in prison if his murder conspiracy case went to trial, but instead he has plead down.
According to the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor, Shmurda whose real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, has plead guilty to Conspiracy 4th (conspiracy to commit Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd). He also pled to a substantive count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd. This plea will result in seven years in jail and five years probation.
Shmurda has been locked up since 2014, when he was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder as well as weapons and drug charges related to gang activity. He was rumored to be a member of an East Flatbush, Brooklyn, gang called “GS9” or “G Stone Crips.” In May, he sued the NYPD for false arrest. And, earlier in December, he and his legal team put together a $2 million bail package, but a judge denied it.
In May, his alleged associate Rashid Derrisant was convicted on 22 counts and received 98 years in prison. That conviction follows another in April where two other alleged gang associates were convicted of murder.
