LAUNCH: LANco talk ‘Long Live Tonight’

By Robyn Collins

Nashville based LANco has released their debut single, “Long Live Tonight,” which is climbing up radio playlists. The five member band, fronted by Brandon Lancaster, is known for their high energy shows, and has played with such acts as Old Dominion, Dwight Yoakam, The Band Perry and Eli Young Band. Their four song self-titled EP was produced by innovative producer Jay Joyce, who has worked with Eric Church, LIttle Big Town, Zac Brown Band and more.

When Radio.com talked with the band, which includes Lancaster, Chandler Baldwin (bass), Jared Hampton (keyboards, banjo), Tripp Howell (drums), and Eric Steedly (lead guitar), they told us how they started and what’s most important to them.

Lancaster said, “Relationship with audience is everything to LANco. The band name stands originally for Lancaster and Company. A lot of times with bands in Nashville, it’s like a revolving door. But this group of guys, we stuck together and were together so long it kinda made sense to shorten it to LANco and make it more of a unit.

“The company thing has always been an aspect that we’ve embraced. When we were playing early shows, and it was just 20 of our friends coming to these house shows they were part of the company, everyone’s part of the company.

“We try to meet as many people as we can after our shows. We want to get to know the people that we’re playing for because they’re our friends. We just want to make it on a bigger scale than the original 20 friends we started out playing for at a house show.”

Chandler Baldwin agreed, explaining, “All five of us obviously love playing music, it’s a personal outlet for all of us, but I don’t think any of us got into music just to play in our bedrooms. We all got into music to share that music with other people we want as many people to hear it as possible. Fans are super important. We play shows for them, so I think the whole company aspect of it is very important to us.”
