Shot in black and white with Thomas mirroring that theme in his costume choices, the video finds him playing a baby grand piano and wandering atop city rooftops while he contemplates the heartbreaking situation that has led to a loved one falling to pieces. “Hold onto me/ You’re all I have, all I have,” he sings on the moving chorus.

The video shifts gears after the halfway mark as scenes begin to shape shift, breaking up into pieces before coming back together again.

“Pieces” appears on Thomas’ new album The Great Unknown. Thomas is currently on tour with the Counting Crows. Fans can find tickets for the remaining shows at his website.
