Prophets of Rage will soon release the EP The Party’s Over and today they debuted a second song from that project, “No Sleep Till Cleveland.” The title switches up the Beastie Boys’ hit “No Sleep Till Brooklyn” with the location of the 2016 Republican National Convention.
During the convention, the super group–which includes members of Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill and Public Enemy–played live shows that protested Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and the political platform he’s created.
Although the group changed the song’s title, they kept the main hook similar to the original, shouting, “No sleep till Brooklyn!” over and over until the remaining seconds when they finally switch it to “Cleveland.” Tom Morello throws in a mind-bending, lengthy guitar solo at the halfway mark that takes the rap song into the realm of rock before sliding right back into something more rhythmically driven.
The Party’s Over drops August 25. Listen to “No Sleep Till Cleveland” below.
