Skrillex, Eminem Helped Michael Phelps Swim Fast

At this year’s Olympics in Rio there have been numerous shots of champion swimmer Michael Phelps listening to earbuds and looking deadly serious before a big race. So what’s did Phelps listen to for motivation? For the most part it was hip-hop and EDM, reports NME.

One of his main go-to artists was Eminem, but before he won a gold medal in Saturday’s 4 x 100m relay, Phelps listened to Skrillex’s remix of Nero’s “Promises” and Aoki and Afrojack’s “No Beef.”

Obviously, it worked. Phelps holds the record for most Olympic medals with 28 and 23 are gold medals.

Meanwhile British gold medal swimmer Adam Peaty has said that he gets ready to race by listening to Birmingham grime MC Jaykae.
