Some have suggested that Taylor Swift‘s 1989 tour is the music equivalent of Oprah’s Book Club, what with her endorsement of all the on-stage guests, from Joan Baez to The Weeknd. But maybe a better example of her wielding her Oprah-like muscles is her latest social media post, which outlined songs she thinks you should hear to make your “life awesome.”
She posted her hand-written list of 11 songs Monday (Oct. 6) night, and called the list: “New Songs That Will Make Your Life Awesome (I Promise).”
Other than Taylor’s appreciation for the tunes, there was no clear theme. Songs appeared on the list from Erik Hassle (“No Words”) M.I.A. (“Swords”) and Louis The Child (“It’s Strange”).
With the title, Swift could have been talking to the artists who made the list, whose lives stand a good chance to be made more awesome if even a fraction of the superstar’s nearly 50 million followers on Instagram and 64 million followers on Twitter become fans; most of the artists are not household names, and may actually benefit from Swift’s props.
