Fall Out Boy and 5 Seconds of Summer Will Collaborate ‘Eventually’

The revelation came during the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, where both acts performed.

In a move that might speak both to the pop music roots of Fall Out Boy and the pop-punk cred of 5 Seconds of Summer, both bands are apparently trying to make music together. It would be a partnership that bridges teen heartthrobs of separate generations.

The topic came up at a recent music event in the UK, BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, in which both bands played the same stage over the course of the day. During FOB’s set, the 5SoS camp was seen enjoying the set, hanging on every song from the alt rock institution, according to SugarScape.

When this fact was brought up to Fall Out Boy after their set, the group admitted to attempting to work with 5 Seconds of Summer in the past, but never being able to get the timing right.

But, Fall Out Boy doesn’t seem ready to give up on the possibility of a collaboration, with band member Joe Trohman declaring, “It’ll happen eventually.” The rest of us will just have to hang tight until eventually becomes now.
