Watch: Vince Staples Puts On His ‘Blue Suede’ Shoes

By Ezra Marcus

Uncategorizable Los Angeles MC and erstwhile Odd Future affiliate Vince Staples has just released a video treatment for “Blue Suede,” off his upcoming debut EP Hell Can Wait.

The song is a monster, with a strange, high-pitched synth noise that will not leave your ear for the rest of the day, trust.

The video, shot in black and white with specks of color, finds the XXL Freshman illustrating the highs and lows of a day in the life. Well, highs mostly: he wakes up in a house packed with friends, grabs a burger, hits the beer-stuffed fridge, plays a game of dominoes, then jumps on the roof and starts rapping.

Seems like a good day.

Still, there’s a weird sense of danger lurking: it’s got something to do with Staples’ voice, which carries menace even when he’s partying and talking about his new blue suede shoes.

“Blue Suede” is off a new project for Staples, release date and title to be determined.
