Usually, when you invest in a portable music player, you just, you know, buy a portable music player.
But Neil Young has different ideas for how you can invest in PonoMusic: via Crowdfunder.
For as little as $5,000, you (or more likely you accredited investment professional) can purchase shares in the company, Rolling Stone reports. Great deal, right? Maybe?
This comes after Young raised $6 million via a Kickstarter for his portable music player and service — about eight times the target goal of $800,000.
The new investment campaign has already earned $1.4 million of the $2.5 million target, which will house smaller investors as a single investment entity.
Pono is expected to launch in October, focusing on high resolution sound and easy-to-use functionality. It will have a suggested retail price of $399 and have 128 gb of storage, or relatively half of your Mac.
