Macklemore is an American hip-hop artist known for the following: an epic fur coat, Kendrick Lamar having been robbed. Saving money on T-Shirts. Saving money on shoes.

Ryan Lewis, his producer? Anti-lean songs. Love in all its variety.

And now: “Arrows,” a new song by Seattle band Fences with a guest feature from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, for which a music video was released today (Aug. 11).

The twinkly song and sprawling video conjure an approximate sense of the past via mid-’00s indie rock via Wes Anderson soundtrack, assisted by the Mackler’s brown vest and Fences’ axe and beanie combo.

We’re in an indeterminate age of record players, tigers, deer heads, arrows dropping our protagonists like flies, and other old-timey sundries. Fences croons, Macklemore spits, Ryan Lewis does whatever a Ryan Lewis does, and a good time is had by all.

Fences‘ Lesser Oceans is available in stores and online Oct. 14. Meanwhile, Macklemore and Lewis recently revealed they’re at work on the followup to The Heist, though no timeframe is known.
