But as always, the producer has one eye on the future, such as his high-powered collaboration with fellow EDM hero, Skrillex, known as Jack U. Making their live debut in San Diego last year on the Mad Decent Block Party, Jack U really made a splash at this year’s Ultra fest in Miami, throwing down a raucous set that included the original version of Toto’s 1982 hit, “Africa.”
Jack U has been working on new music for a forthcoming release, and Diplo debuted one of the new tunes during a recent DJ set in Paris, France. The unnamed track opens with an emotional female vocal before dropping into a dramatic trap beat.
Southern California fans eager for more Jack U can catch them live this weekend (Aug. 2-3) when they’re among the featured performers at the massive HARD Summer 2014 event in Los Angeles.
Diplo recently blew the sunglasses off influential British DJ Annie Mac‘s head when he played her a very exclusive remix of Madonna’s 1987 single, “La Isla Bonita,” rerecorded with new vocals from Madonna herself.
