Get ready for G.O.A.T. 2, LL Cool J‘s follow-up his chart-topping album, with a track from the forthcoming LP.

The rapper teams up with Jamaican musician Mavado and producer Jerry Wonda (The Fugees, Miguel) for a dark jam about the streets and the hustlers.

In a recent interview, LL said, “The G.O.A.T. 2 album is really exciting… ain’t even really no deal in place, I’m just having a ball. There’s a difference between when I do my science project albums and when I do my albums where I’m really doing it for the hood and doing it for my people.”

LL goes on to say he’s not doing the music for money, but because he loves it.

“I’ve been a part of damn near every era in hip hop. When I get little kids coming up to me saying they didn’t even know I did music, I say, ‘Okay, I need to do an album,'” LL said.

G.O.A.T. 2 does not currently have a release date, but is planned for 2014.
