New Jersey rockers the Gaslight Anthem don’t shy away from the creepy in their new music video.

The video for “Get Hurt,” the first single from the band’s forthcoming album of the same name, dropped today (July 24) and brings the song to life.

“Spend my nights in dislocation/Talking to spirits on the floor,” frontman Brian Fallon sings as a rat is seen being petted. The video, though, mainly features performance footage of the band, showing them rocking in a dark bar as animated dancers act out getting hurt by being choked, beaten or pushed to the floor.

The Gaslight Anthem will release Get Hurt on Aug. 12. In an interview with NME they said the album will be a completely different vibe than their previous releases.

“You get a realization at some point in your career that whatever it is you do, you can no longer continue to do it,” Fallon said. “You just realize you can’t put out the same records forever.”
