Pitbull‘s gearing up to release his eighth studio album sometime soon, and today he’s premiering one of the singles from the album, which according to his Soundcloud will be called Globalization.
And if the island rhythms of Magic!’s reggae-flavored No. 1 song “Rude” is any indication of the direction in which the U.S. charts are heading, the Miami rapper’s new song “Fireball” could be primed for major success.
The song, featuring John Ryan on the hook, finds Pitbull in his usual lane of feel-good party music that talks he and his Mr. Worldwide tendencies up to a ridiculous level.
After repeating the word “baby” about 100 times and declaring that he’s “on fire,” “Fireball” launches into a tropical beat, complete with horns, clanging percussion and sun-drenched stringed instruments.
Ryan’s soulful vocal well-suits the part of the song where Pitbull and his cohorts turn down, so to speak. “I’m on fire!” he croons as Pitbull tosses in some of his favorite catchphrases in the background.
Globalization follows 2012’s Global Warming. It currently doesn’t have a specific release date, but Pitbull notes the album is set for a fall 2014 release.
