Reba McEntire Returns, Releases New Song with a Message: ‘Pray for Peace’

By Philip Cosores

Country Music Hall of Fame member and star of film and television Reba McEntire is back in a big way, offering up a new video whose message may be straight-forward, but is as important now as it ever has been.

Using a gospel melody and an assortment of steadily building instruments, “Pray for Peace” sees McEntire encourage all to “pray for peace” while the images shift to people of all walks of life gesturing the song’s two core tenants: prayer and peace.

Lady Antebellum can even be seen getting in on the action, and Kelly Clarkson can be heard on the track.

This marks the first music in over three years from the living legend, and as she describes it, it was the message of the song that really guided her back into recording.

And since the video has posted, people have shown support for the message by sharing themselves praying for peace. Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are among them, sharing the following video.

McEntire’s last album, All the Women I Am, was released in November 2010 and earned her a No. 1 country hit in “Turn On the Radio.”
