Rihanna Tweets ‘Free Palestine,’ Promptly Deletes It, Blames Article Link

By Scott T. Sterling

Rihanna continues to ruffle feathers with her social networks after she sent out (and quickly deleted) a pro-Palestine message on her Twitter account today (July 15).

The tweet, which was simply #FreePalestine, was taken down just minutes after it was posted this morning.

According to a source close to the pop star (via TMZ), the quick deletion occurred because “it was never meant to be sent out in the first place.”

According to the same source, the errant tweet was a result of Rihanna reading up about the raging conflict in the Middle East online, suggesting that the message was automatically generated when she clicked on the story link.

The source went on to explain that Rihanna is “pro-peace” and that “she doesn’t want innocent people dying.”

If she did indeed have an opinion on the matter, perhaps she and Eddie Vedder can talk it over.

Rihanna was recently spotted in Brazil for the World Cup finals, cheering for the winning team from Germany and partying with team members after the victory.
