Slipknot has announced they will headline both nights of their very own Knotfest, coming to San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif., Oct. 24-26.
According to the festival’s website, Slipknot will close out Saturday and Sunday nights with different sets.
In addition to Slipknot, performers will include Danzig, Five Finger Death Punch and Volbeat. The massive venue will feature five stages, more than 20 festival attractions including zip lines, a Slipknot museum, Junk Yard Drum Circle, pillars of fire, freaks, fire-breathers, stilt-walkers and “40 hours of apocalyptic madness.”
“Knotfest is a chance for Slipknot to bring the sensory-overload of a wild European festival — and now we’re coming for you, California,” Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan said in a release. “Playing two different sets over two nights at one location is a new experience in the history of this band. This year’s Knotfests in the U.S. and Japan are going to be on another level.”
The San Bernardino event is one of two festivals, with its sister show in Japan featuring Korn, Limp Bizkit, Lamb of God, Five Finger Death Punch and more, Oct. 15-16 at Chiba City’s Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall.
Campers and VIP ticket holders at the SoCal Knotfest receive a free Friday night show with Suicide Silence, The Black Dahlia Murder and Butcher Babies as well as an early preview of the festival area and Slipknot Museum showcasing the band’s history. VIP ticket holders also can attend a Friday night special VIP Pre-Party Bash with music by Slipknot’s DJ Sid.
In addition, all ticket purchasers will receive a digital copy of Slipknot’s forthcoming album, to be delivered on release date (yet to be determined). “The new album is “a cross between Iowa and Volume 3…, but that’s honestly just scratching the surface,” said frontman Corey Taylor in February. “I think the fans are going to be very, very excited when they hear this stuff.”
According to Taylor talking to Loudwire, “the album is 98 percent done.”
Tickets are now on sale Knotfest.com along with limited quantities of “early bird” discounted one- and two-day festival tickets, as well as camping packages. VIP packages go on sale Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. PT.
