Hear Spoon’s New Feel-Good Single ‘Do You’

By Annie Reuter

Spoon is helping summer get underway with their new feel-good song, “Do You.”

The lead single off their upcoming eighth studio album, “Do You” begs the listener to “get Popsicles / Someone do something about this heat.”

Apparently it’s hot where Spoon comes from — makes sense, since the band is based in Austin, Texas.

Spoon are gearing up to release their eighth album They Want My Soul on Aug. 5 via Loma Vista Recordings. Earlier this year, they released “Rent I Pay,” the first piece of new music from the album, at a show hosted by NPR at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge.

The tracklist for their upcoming album, which includes a cover of the 1961 song “I Just Don’t Understand” sung originally by Ann-Margret and later covered by The Beatles, is below.

They Want My Soul tracklist:
01. Rent I Pay
02. Inside Out
03. Rainy Taxi
04. Do You
05. Knock Knock Knock
06. Outlier
07. They Want My Soul
08. I Just Don’t Understand
09. Let Me Be Mine
10. New York Kiss
