Man Dies From Ketamine Overdose at Glastonbury, Death Toll Reaches 2 for UK Festival

By Jeremy D. Larson

Yesterday, we reported a 26-year-old man was in serious condition after a ketamine overdose. Today, NME reports that police have confirmed that the man has died at the hospital.

Glastonbury Music Festival also confirmed the death with a tweet from their official account:

“Unfortunately the man taken ill after a suspected reaction to ketamine has died this morning. His family are aware and being supported.”

This news follows the death of a 67-year-old woman at the festival from what is believed to be natural causes. The music festival continues throughout the weekend, featuring headlining performances from Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian.

It has been a bad week for good health at music concerts, after reports of a concert in Boston for Avicii which left 36 concert-goers hospitalized. Additionally, two died and another handful was hospitalized after last weekend’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
