Though Spoon is currently booked for a solid handful of shows across North America in support of their new album They Want My Soul, the band hadn’t announced a full-blown tour, sticking mostly to one-off shows and festivals — that is, until now.
In a release, the band revealed a North American tour scheduled for this fall, not long after They Want My Soul hits shelves. The 14-city tour kicks off Sept. 2 in Washington, D.C., with stops in New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago and more.
Currently, the tour is scheduled to end Sept. 23 in Tulsa, Okla., though the band will remain in the U.S. for two weekends at Austin City Limits before heading over to Europe at the beginning of November.
Tickets for the newly announced shows are set to go on sale June 27. Hamilton Leithauser and EMA will open on varying dates.
They Want My Soul is out Aug. 5, the same day as the band’s set in San Diego supporting Arcade Fire. Some songs have already been revealed from the album, with new track “Rent I Pay” hitting the Internet earlier in June.
