Apparently North West may have two musician parents soon.
After an ill-fated go at a music career a few years ago, Kim Kardashian reportedly wants to get back into the game. According to CNN, the socialite is pursuing a career in the industry again — and naturally, it’s her husband who’s at the helm.
In addition to attaining vocal and songwriting coaches for her musical endeavors, Kardashian has reportedly recruited Kanye West to help her make it this time.
With all this expense not spared, it appears Kardashian is trying a little harder than her last go-round, which culminated with 2011’s “Jam (Turn It Up).”
The song, which featured production from The-Dream, was released to very little acclaim and seemed to mark Kardashian’s last attempt at doing anything musically.
CNN also noted that in 2012, Kardashian seemed to have given up on a career; in an interview at the MTV Music Awards in Germany that year, she claimed she’d never make another single — “that was just for fun, and for charity,” she said, adding that it was “just not my thing.”
However, West was actually the one who reportedly talked her into recording “Jam” in the first place, so he’s clearly a cheerleader for her work.
Maybe this time she’ll fare a little better.
Meanwhile, her husband is prepping his followup to Yeezus, which is officially a year old as of Wednesday. The album does not yet have a release date, but Rick Rubin is confirmed to have had a hand in it.
