With a rebel yell, Billy Idol announced he will release a new album in late in summer of 2014.

The rocker’s album, whose title and exact release date have not yet been revealed, will be his first body of original material since 2005’s Devil’s Playground.

It’ll be a self-released affair on Idol’s BFI Records, with production from acclaimed producer Trevor Horn (Paul McCartney, Frankie Goes to Hollywood).

Idol’s last album, Devil’s Playground, hit shelves in 2005 and featured a minor U.S. rock hit with “Scream.”

Idol will also hit bookshelves in 2014 with his self-written biography, Dancing With Myself, scheduled for release on Oct. 7.

If you can’t get enough of Idol between now and then, he’ll spend the rest of June into July touring Europe, with his ongoing world tour announced to continue through 2015.
