While some other chicks are vying for song of the summer, Nicki Minaj’s “Pills N Potions” is on track to claim another title — bummer of the summer — but that doesn’t mean it’s lacking artists who’d like to add their own spin to it.
The sweet-but-morose track about love gone wrong has already seen several remixes, including a new one released this week from Plies.
What the Florida rapper brings to the track is a verse of his own. And he thinks the lady in the song needs to get over it.
“Quit all the petty s— like going through a n—– phone,” he raps, offering the male point of view in response. “Then acting like you did right when you did wrong.”
Plies may be best known for two top 10 hits in the late 2000s with “Shawty” and “Bust It Baby (Part 2).” His new album Purple Heart was scheduled for a 2013 release but has not yet hit shelves. He did, however, release a new mixtape, Da Last Real N—a Left, earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Minaj is awaiting the release of her own new album, The Pink Print. “Pills N Potions” is the first single from the record, which is scheduled for release sometime this year.
