Deadmau5, Skrillex, Avicii & More on Paul Oakenfold’s All-Star DJ World Cup Team

By Scott T. Sterling

With the world turning its collective attention toward Brazil and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, British DJ star Paul Oakenfold has handpicked his very own World Cup team — comprised of fellow all-star DJs.

Oakenfold’s picks represents a wide range of countries; four of the DJs are from the Netherlands, including Hardwell, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and “Animals” upstart Martin Garrix.

Skrillex and Steve Aoki are the two Americans, while Oakenfold and Calvin Harris are from Britain.

David Guetta is the lone Frenchman on the team, with the team rounded out with Canada’s Deadmau5 and Avicii flying the flag for Sweden.

Oakenfold is a big soccer fan, calling it a “massive part of my life.” He’s a diehard fan of Britain’s Chelsea FC, even though most of his family supports the rival Arsenal team.
