For his latest music video, Kaskade has returned to his roots.
The energizing new clip for “Ain’t Gotta Lie” (a collaboration with the artist deCarl) finds the EDM star born Ryan Raddon spending time in his hometown of Chicago, including scenes of the DJ shopping for vinyl at the city’s legendary Gramaphone Records store, where many local house music luminaries including Colette and Derrick Carter have worked in the past.
Speaking of Carter, the renowned DJ and producer appears in the “Ain’t Gotta Lie” video, seen laughing and hanging out with Kaskade.
Packed with high-energy shots of Kaskade performing for his faithful fans, the clip is an ideal visualization of the track’s deep Chicago house grooves, not dissimilar to the sounds heard from such house enthusiasts as Disclosure.
“Ain’t Gotta Lie” is taken from Kaskade’s forthcoming Redux EP, which is scheduled for release on June 24.
To make the release even more of an event, Kaskade took to Twitter to announce that he was giving away the songs “stems” (that’s producer-speak for the individual parts) for free so that fans can create their own remixes of the new song.
“It’s not a contest, it’s more like a gift,” Kaskade said via Twitter of releasing the remix parts.
The DJ is set to appear at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee this weekend (June 14), followed by a set at this year’s Spring Awakening in Chicago the following day (June 15).
