Miley Cyrus hasn’t been releasing new music lately, unless one counts the Flaming Lips collaboration/Beatles cover “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” that hit the Internet last month.
That may not change anytime soon, but when it comes to older Cyrus material that hadn’t seen the light of day before now, June has already been kind.
A leftover from Cyrus’ Bangerz sessions has surfaced — “Pretty Girls (Fun),” a fast-paced club track featuring production from Mike WiLL Made It, a go-to for the former Hannah Montana these days (see: “23,” “We Can’t Stop”).
The track definitely has an unfinished feel, like either Cyrus or someone else was supposed to contribute another verse after the initial chorus, either rapping or otherwise.
There’s not a whole lot of singing going on here, either, perhaps keeping with her contribution to Mike WiLL Made It’s “23.” “One shot, two shot, three shot, four,” she sings on the chorus. “This the one that bring the pretty girls to the floor.” She then proceeds to decree that “If you came here to have a good time, turn up” and ask the age-old question: “Mirror, mirror, on the wall / Who’s the flyest of them all?”
Watch Cyrus talk the Mike WiLL-produced “We Can’t Stop” when it was first hitting it big last year in an interview with Radio.com.
