There’s a new One Direction video that the guys probably don’t want you to see.
A new clip, which was reportedly filmed in April while the guys were on tour in Peru, shows two of the boy band’s members allegedly smoking a joint.
In the four-minute video (via The Daily Mail), Zayn Malik is seen lighting up what appears to be a joint as fellow member Louis Tomlinson says they’re leaving Peru “joint lit, happy days.”
While in the smoke-filled car, Tomlinson jokes that Malik takes a hit as part of his warmup for a show, before asking him, “What do you think about that kind of content?” Malik then responds, “Very controversial.”
As they drive by a policeman on a motorcycle, Tomlinson jokes, “He’s having a look. He’s thinking, ‘I’m sure I can smell an illegal substance in there.’ And he’s hit the nail on the head.”
In the end, the guys do what most people who are high do, they wonder what they’re going to eat. In their case, it will be chicken and chili.
Since the video leaked yesterday (May 27), fans have taken to Twitter to give their take on the incident with the now trending hashtag, #zouispassmethatblunt. Some have expressed concern over their favorite boy band’s behavior, but most plan to stand behind 1D. “RAISE YOUR HANDS IF UR NOT LEAVING THE BOYS NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AND THAT YOU’LL ALWAYS SUPPORT THEM,” one fan wrote in all CAPS.
Others have started calling them “Blunt Direction” and even suggested the guys launch a new line of rolling papers à la Miley Cyrus.
A few have even used the hashtag to blast the media for their take on the whole thing. “i hate that the media dont talk about the good things the boys do. im so done with media wtf,” one fan wrote.
Another was a little more angry about the whole thing. “MEDIA: “ZAYN & LOUIS ARE BAD INFLUENCES & RUDE,” the fan wrote. “ME: #zouispassmethatblunt.” Followed by a photo that simply says, “Go f–k yourself.”
