A new Jenny Lewis album is coming, and Beck’s had his hand in it.
According to Rolling Stone, the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman’s new solo album, The Voyager, is out this July and features production help in high places — most notably Beck, Ryan Adams and Johnathan Rice.
The album is Lewis’ first disc of new material since 2008’s solo effort Acid Tongue. Rilo Kiley released a compilation album, Rkives, of previously unreleased material last year.
Beck’s official Twitter account confirmed the news today (May 19), noting that the singer/songwriter had produced “one song” on the new album.[tweet https://twitter.com/beck/status/468429492797452289]
Adams helmed much of the record; The Voyager was reportedly recorded at Adams’ studio at Sunset Sound. Much of the album was set to tape following a tour with the Postal Service last year, which itself came after “one of the most difficult periods of my life,” she told Rolling Stone, following Rilo Kiley’s breakup and other “really intense personal things.”
The Voyager hits stores July 29 via Warner Bros. Lewis is currently on her own U.S. tour, which includes stops in Boston, Washington, D.C., and Orlando.
