Would you like a Porter Robinson tour?
He’s got one for those who do, and the news comes with a brand new announcement video to go with it.
There’s been a lot of activity in the Robinson camp lately. Earlier this week, the breakout EDM artist revealed details of his debut album, Worlds, which is set for release on Aug. 12. Also tucked away in that news was the fact that pre-ordering the album would unlock a special access code for an exclusive ticket pre-sale for his upcoming tour in support of the new album.
Now, the “Spitfire” producer has unveiled an official video announcement for the North American leg of the tour, which is a brief as it is mysterious. Viewers learn that the outing is slated for this fall, with dates forthcoming.
“I wanted something that felt distantly sad, a little cute, surreal, hopeful, and maybe somehow evocative of fiction? It’s also peppered with cheap little general-midi interludes that sound like N64 games or old PC games,” Robinson said of the new album’s recently released second single, “Sad Machine.” “Those are so nostalgic to me and they really helped the whole thing feel all fantastical and fictional.”
