It’s been a while since Justin Bieber got himself in trouble with the law. Lately he’s been filling his time working in the studio with Ariana Grande, taking selfies with boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. before he hit the ring and riding horseback. But we should have known it would’t be long until he’d be back on the dark side.
Bieber is now being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department for attempted robbery after a woman accused him of stealing her cellphone.
According to CBS Los Angeles, the L.A.P.D. confirmed that the alleged incident took place on Monday (May 12) around 10:30 pm.
TMZ claims that they spoke with the woman who filed the complaint. She says that Bieber and his crew “got into an altercation with some guys” at a batting cage in Sherman Oaks on Monday night. She then said Bieber saw her reaching for her cell phone and demanded she hand it over so he could delete any photos she may have taken. When she refused, she says Bieber reached into her purse and took it. When the pop star discovered that there were no images, the woman says he began screaming at her and her daughter.
The police department has said they didn’t receive a complaint until Tuesday. Officers then interviewed the woman that same night.
At this time, Bieber has not be arrested or questioned in connection to the accusation. He also not commented on the accusations, but was instead spotted in Oklahoma City watching the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Bieber is currently awaiting trial for driving under the influence in Miami. The trial has currently been delayed until July after his lawyers reportedly asked for more time to examine evidence and discuss whether to accept a possible plea deal. Bieber is also still awaiting word whether he’ll be charged with vandalism following a January incident in Calabasas, where he allegedly egged his neighbor’s home.
